On Friday 14th of June around 9:30 p.m. local time, a four-storey building in the Vijay Nagar slums of the Antop Hill area collapsed for unknown reasons. Two women were killed due to the incident as local authorities and BMC disaster control stated. According to reports, the upper floor and a part of a wall collapsed, leaving the entire building unstable.
It should be mentioned that the Mumbai Fire Brigade quickly dispatched a team to rescue the two individuals trapped under the debris. Unfortunately, after their transportation to Sion Hospital, they were pronounced dead. As of present, efforts to clear the debris and rubble are ongoing by local teams. Fortunately, no other casualties have been reported.
