India: A three-storey building (under renovation) collapsed

On Friday, November 8, a three-storey building near Dandu Road in Bangarapet, Kolar district, Karnataka, collapsed. The building, and specifically its ground floor, was under renovation. According to authorities, the structure, which had been abandoned for two months before its collapse, gave way, and the debris affected nearby buildings. The collapse caused major damage to the compound of a private school located next to it. 

Officials reported that at the time of the collapse, three families were inside the building. However, fire brigade personnel promptly arrived on-site and rescued them. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.

As of present, the exact cause of the building collapse in Bangarapet remains unclear. Police have registered a case, and a detailed investigation is underway to determine the reasons behind the incident. Authorities are examining potential factors, including structural issues or negligence during the renovation process, to identify those who may be responsible.
