On Saturday, May 24, at around 4:48 a.m., a plastic bottle manufacturing unit in Sector 2 of Delhi’s Bawana industrial area caught fire, resulting in a powerful explosion that caused the collapse of a multi-storey building.
According to Atul Garg, Chief of the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), seventeen fire engines were dispatched promptly to the site to extinguish the blaze. Delhi Police and emergency medical teams also responded immediately. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported. Rescue teams remained on site to clear debris and ensure public safety.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing thick black smoke billowing from the structure as it was quickly engulfed in flames. The subsequent explosion, which led to the collapse of the building, alarmed nearby residents.
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the source of the incident and to assess whether the building complied with structural and safety regulations.
