Specialists from the Republican Centre for Construction Certification have carried out concrete strength tests at a construction site on Nurkamal Zhetikashkaeva Street in Bishkek, where 17- and 22-storey residential buildings are being built.
During the site visit, the specialists used non-destructive testing methods to assess the in-situ strength of the concrete in the structures.
According to Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services, inspections of this kind make it possible to assess whether the strength of concrete structures complies with established norms and standards, and contribute to quality control of construction work.
The ministry added that regular monitoring of the quality of construction materials is a key element in ensuring the reliability and safety of buildings under construction.
No test results were released. The published reports do not state which non-destructive method was used, the concrete strength class specified for the buildings, the measured in-situ strength values, the name of the developer, or whether the concrete was found to comply with the applicable requirements.
