The "Bridge of Flowers" is located in the village of Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, USA. Its length is about 200 meters and passes over the river Deerfield.
The unusual here is that it is covered with over 500 varieties of seasonal flowers that are planted every year by local volunteers to ensure that they will be in bloom between April and October.
The bridge was built in 1908 for a railway line so as to carry the flour mills of the area. It was abandoned in 1927 and soon it was filled with weeds.
Then the resident Antoinette Burnham area proposed the bridge to become a beautiful garden.
In 1929 the Association of Women took responsibility for the beautification of the bridge. Soil, fertilizers, plants and volunteering work transformed the bridge into a small lush and colorful oasis.
Since then the bridge offers every year a beautiful sight to locals and visitors.
