A devastating accident during a religious festival in Ethiopia has claimed the lives of at least 36 people, when a scaffolding, erected to support overflow worshippers, collapsed under the weight. The incident occurred as worshippers gathered at Menjar Shenkora Arerti Mariam Church, in Arerti, Amhara region of northern Ethiopia.
Officials reported that at least 200 individuals were transported to the local hospital with a range of injuries.
No other details have been released so far about the collapse, other than some photographs through the Ethiopia Broadcasting Corporation (EBC)
Officials also stated, through the EBC, that must become a priority.
