Non Destructive Testing

A set of methods or techniques used to inspect, test, or evaluate materials, components, and structures without causing damage or altering their integrity is called Non-destructive Testing (NDT). NDT plays a crucial role in quality control, preventive maintenance, and safety assessment across industries, e.g. manufacturing or construction, ensuring that critical components meet specified standards and regulations without undergoing destructive testing procedures. Furthermore, NDT is considered for detecting flaws or irregularities that could compromise the functionality or safety of buildings, bridges, pipelines and welds, among others. It involves various methodologies, including ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, magnetic particle testing, eddy current testing, and visual inspection.
