The Orchard Building is nearing completion, having reached its full height this week. The 70-storey structure, located at Orchard Street and Jackson Avenue in the Court Square area of Long Island City, now stands at over 823 feet tall. With more than 100,000 square feet of amenities, it is officially the tallest building in Queens.
The building features 824 apartments, ranging from studios to three-bedroom units, with 248 units designated as affordable housing. Residents will enjoy an expansive backyard with amenities including a swimming pool, three pickleball courts, an outdoor movie theater, a running track, and lush green spaces such as an orchard grove, a children’s playground, a yoga terrace, a dog park, and private cabanas equipped with grills and fire pits. The wellness and fitness facilities are equally impressive, boasting an indoor pool, a regulation-size basketball court, a multi-sport simulator, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a spa complete with a steam room and sauna. Additionally, there are dedicated fitness studios for specialized workouts.
The 70th floor will feature a stunning sky lounge offering panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline, complete with a bar, a chef’s kitchen, and a private dining area. For entertainment, the building includes a game room equipped with video games, an arcade, ping pong and billiard tables, as well as private screening and multimedia theaters with kitchenettes, all accessible to residents. To support modern work-from-home needs, the design incorporates conference rooms, work pods, meeting rooms, lounges, a business center, and a podcast studio. Additional amenities include a private porte-cochere entrance, a two-story parking garage with over 200 spaces, and 13,000 square feet of retail space along Jackson Avenue.
Lloyd Goldman, president of BLDG Management and spokesperson for the developer company, stated that this building, the tallest in the city, marks a new era of luxury living in Queens.
