A major infrastructure program is underway to strengthen transportation connections between Dong Nai Province and Ho Chi Minh City, with six new bridges planned in total. Among them is a new bridge priced at about $778 million, one of the first three large-scale projects approved by the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Council. These initial bridges are expected to be completed by 2028, and they will be developed through public-private partnerships.
The Cat Lai Bridge, carrying an estimated cost of $778 million, will span 11.6 km and include four lanes in each direction. It will connect Dong Nai’s Dai Phuoc Commune to Nguyen Thi Dinh Street in HCMC. Furthermore, another major project, the Phu My 2 Bridge, is projected to cost around $622.5 million. This 15-km structure will link HCMC’s Nguyen Huu Tho Street with Road 25C in Dong Nai. The Long Hung (Dong Nai 2) Bridge, budgeted at $448 million, will connect National Highway 51 in Dong Nai to Ring Road 3, which has recently opened in HCMC. The remaining planned bridges—Thanh Hoi 2, Tan An, and Tan Hien—will be built in later phases.
