Cities and nations have engaged in a competitive race, vying to outdo one another by constructing massive structures, e.g. towers and skyscrapers, due to the industrial revolution. A prominent example of this is the Burj Khalifa, currently the world's tallest building, towering at a height of 2,716.5 feet. Previously holding this record was the Empire State Building in New York, which, at 1,454 feet, now ranks as the 54th tallest building worldwide. Nevertheless, Indiana's tallest structure is an astonishing 1,132 feet in height.
Contrary to what one might expect, the tallest structure in Indiana is not found in Indianapolis but rather in the small town of Trafalgar. Erected in 1957, the WTTV Television Tower reaches a height of 1,132 feet and serves as a broadcasting hub for WTTV, a popular channel that was among the first to showcase colored programming in the state.
