Alexander’s building performance in New York City results in litigation

The Alexander, a tall building in New York City stands out from all other buildings in the area. The designers had promised a luxurious building, which would provide relaxation and convenience. Nevertheless, the building has been in operation since 2008, and current owners complain about a number of issues. On the other hand, the designers assure the residents that there is no reason for concern.

The Alexander building is located in Turtle Bay, near several central squares and public means of transport. Designed by Sydness Architects and built in 2008, ithas24 floors,  and was expected to afford  a doorman, a fitness center , a private storage area etc... The white oak floors and the elevators made of marble and bronze draw the attention of visitors, but the owners report several serious  problems. Specifically, owners complain about cracks and leaks on the roof, balconies and terrace. The roof glass is cracked and the windows are not noise-proof. Furthermore, there is safety concerns associated with the roof tiles.

The designers of the building claim that the building is safe and properly designed by structural engineers, but their assurances have not convinced the owners, who have already sued all responsible parties.
