AI demonstrates and revitalize Diyarbakir Walls and Ten-Eyed Bridge

A new project that uses advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology has been unveiled by Adem Ulusoy. More specifically, Ulusoy and his team have successfully revitalized the ancient Diyarbakir Walls, which date back 5,000 years, along with the renowned Ten-Eyed Bridge. These historic landmarks can now share their stories through digital restoration. It should be noted that both sites are recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

According to Adem Ulusoy's statement to Ihlas News Agency, he is committed to promote Diyarbakir’s heritage through AI. He noted that the initial idea was to recreate images, but ultimately, he decided to generate lifelike videos.  For this project, Ulusoy decided to produce two films, one for each structure. In the first film, that was dedicated to the walls, he highlighted the challenges of working with basalt stones sourced from cooled lava of the Karacadag volcano. With these approaches he managed to integrate geology and history into an engaging narrative. The second film was dedicated to the Ten-Eyed Bridge, constructed in 1065 by the Mervanids. His research resulted in a cinematic portrayal that blended historical data with creative interpretation.

Ulusoy reconstructed these historical sites, showing not only their architectural importance but also the construction challenges that constructors had faced centuries ago. In addition, he stated that the walls, which trace their origins back to 2000 B.C. and have stood through the reign of 33 civilizations, have been maintained and expanded over the millennia. Therefore, his main goal for this project was to use AI technology to offer a unique way for people to learn about history.

Overall, Ulusoy admires and appreciates Diyarbakir’s history and is confident that AI will play a significant role in various fields. Through this project, he has helped digitally revive these structures with the aid of technology, emphasizing the importance of protecting cultural heritage for future generations.
