Geo-Foundations, a subsidiary of Hayward Baker Canada Ltd., becomes the First Specialty Foundation and Ground Improvement Trade Contractor in North America to achieve the certification for the OHSAS 18001:2007 international standard for workplace health and safety.
After more than two years of implementing comprehensive programs and policies across every sector of the workplace environment based on core principles such as worker engagement and continuous improvement, Geo-Foundations succeeded in passing the Stage 1 and 2 OHSAS 18001 audits in November and December, respectively. Mr. John Rubright, Managing Director of Keller North America, has made the announcement on behalf of the company.
Formal certification for OHSAS 18001 was conferred on Geo-Foundations on January 26, 2015. This new accomplishment comes on the heels of Geo-Foundations becoming, in October 2013, the first foundation trade contractor in Ontario to achieve COR National Standard certification through the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association of Ontario. Continuing this trend in safety leadership, Geo-Foundations has become the first specialty foundation and ground improvement trade contractor in North America to achieve OHSAS 18001 certification.
