A four-storey building collapsed in Madrid neighborhood of Carabanchel, without injured people, since a few hours before the collapse they had been evacuated. The four-storey building and an adjacent to it building were evacuated at 4 am on Monday, with a total of 57 tenants that removed from 40 apartments.
The building finally collapsed at around 9 o clock in the morning, while the municipal authorities are unable, for the moment, to explain the causes of the collapse.
According to testimonies of residents, the first cracks in the walls of the building were found, incidentally, in June but some days ago the cracks were formed throughout the building to such an extent that the residents of the fourth floor were not able to open their doors.
The mayor of Madrid Manuela Carmena after the site inspection he assured the residents that homes based on their needs will be offered, and although there were no injuries, immediate medical help will be offered. "You can rest assured, we are going to offer you a house in line with your needs," Carmena told residents.
