Saudi Arabia is laying the groundwork for another ambitious megaproject: a record-breaking skyscraper named Rise. Once completed, Rise Tower is set to become the tallest building in the world, soaring to an astonishing height of two kilometers—surpassing the current record-holder, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa (830 meters), as well as the yet-to-be-finished Jeddah Tower.
The tower will house luxury hotels, upscale restaurants, entertainment venues, office spaces, and residential units, making it a mixed-use vertical city.
Rise Tower will serve as the centerpiece of a massive new development known as the North Pole, located in Riyadh and valued at $5 billion. The project is part of Riyadh’s broader transformation into a major economic hub, featuring a blend of residential, commercial, and industrial zones. The city’s master plan also includes advanced infrastructure, such as air taxis, autonomous vehicles, and a next-generation metro system—aimed at creating a seamless, futuristic urban experience.
At the heart of this vision, Rise Tower is expected to become a global landmark and a magnet for both tourists and businesses. The tower is being designed by the renowned London-based architectural firm Foster + Partners. Completion is anticipated around 2060, with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund currently inviting bids from international construction firms for the execution of the project.
