DFI names John Wolosick 2018-2019 Traveling Lecturer Sponsored

Hayward Baker, is pleased to announce John R. Wolosick, P.E., D.GE, F.ASCE has been named Deep Foundations Institute’s (DFI) 2018-19 Traveling Lecturer.

 DFI is an international association of contractors, engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, academics, and owners in the deep foundations industry. The multi-disciplinary membership creates a consensus voice and common vision for continual improvement in the planning, design, and construction of deep foundations and excavations. DFI has over 3,000 members worldwide.

DFI created the Traveling Lecturer program to inspire students to consider deep foundations careers, provide information on topics of interest to industry members, and demonstrate how DFI supports the industry. Each year, DFI selects a prominent industry expert as the DFI Traveling Lecturer to present a series of lectures to university students, professional groups, and industry associations. John R. Wolosick is Director of Engineering for HBI. With nearly 40 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and contracting, he has authored more than 35 technical papers. Wolosick is the recipient of the 2008 ASCE Geo-Institute Martin S. Kapp Foundation Engineering Award. He is the immediate past president of DFI (2014-2016) and former co-chair of the ADSC/DFI Micropile committee (2004-2007). He served as a member of the ASCE Earth Retaining Structures committee for 30 years and is past chair of the ASCE Georgia Section Geotechnical Committee (2003-2005). Wolosick was named the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers Engineer of the Year - Industry in 2017. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
