Standing 55 storeys high and inspired by the shape of a rocket, the Mohammed VI Tower has officially opened in Salé, becoming the tallest building in Morocco. The striking skyscraper was designed by architecture firms Rafael de La‑Hoz and Hakim Benjelloun, with construction having started in 2017. The tower now rises 250 metres above the city skyline.
Located along the Bou Regreg River between Rabat and the historic city of Salé, the mixed-use development includes the luxury Waldorf Astoria hotel, premium office spaces, upscale residential apartments, and a public observatory offering panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Next to the tower stands the newly opened Royal Theatre of Rabat, also known as the Grand Theatre de Rabat, which was designed by the late Zaha Hadid. It is noted that the landmark cultural venue officially welcomed visitors on April 22, 2026.
