On Tuesday, May 27, a tractor-trailer transporting a crane arm collided with the overpass at FM 928, located on Interstate 27 in Tulia, Texas, about 50 miles south of Amarillo. The collision caused a partial collapse of the bridge.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collapse occurred when the crane arm mounted on the truck struck the overpass. Fortunately, the truck driver sustained only minor injuries. Two eyewitnesses who captured the incident reported seeing a large chunk of concrete fall after the impact.
The overpass has since been closed, and officials have not yet provided a timeline for its repair or reopening.
