China’s Huajiang Canyon Bridge in Guizhou Province has successfully passed a series of rigorous static and dynamic load tests ahead of its official opening. Over five days, engineers used 96 heavy trucks to evaluate the bridge’s structural safety and performance under real-world conditions, while also examining its stiffness and strength. The results confirmed that the record-breaking bridge fully meets safety standards and is ready for public use.
Spanning nearly 2,900 meters with a main span of 1,420 meters, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge rises 625 meters above the canyon floor, making it the tallest bridge in the world. Beyond its height, it also sets a new benchmark as the longest-span bridge ever built in a mountainous area. With construction nearing completion, the bridge is poised to stand as a landmark achievement in modern engineering.
