Building under renovation collapses on Bradford Street in Albany

The Albany Department of Buildings and Regulatory Compliance is carrying out a structural assessment following the collapse of a building on Bradford Street, between Ontario Street and Partridge Street. The Albany Fire Department responded to the scene at 9:02 a.m. on Wednesday.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered that the front section of the building facing the street at 135 Ontario Street had separated from the rest of the structure and collapsed. Nearby buildings were not affected, and gas and electrical services remained intact, according to officials.

Fire officials confirmed that the building was undergoing renovations at the time of the collapse and that no civilians or firefighters were injured in the incident.
