Emergency responders were called to Welch Way in Witney on the evening of January 21 after the partial collapse of a building. No injuries were reported in the incident. It should be mentioned that, on the same night, winds exceeding 30mph were recorded in certain areas of Oxfordshire as Storm Isha swept across the UK.
The area and the road were closed for both vehicles and pedestrians from the roundabout on High Street to the traffic lights at Woodford Wayhas. The closure aims to prevent potential injuries from additional collapses and to facilitate structural assessments.
Furthermore, a spokesperson from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue mentioned that firefighters have been working throughout the night to deal with the effects of Storm Isha.
