Keller and Hayward Baker announce acquisition of Moretrench Sponsored

Keller and Hayward Baker have acquired Moretrench, a contractor operating predominantly along the east coast of the US with a strong heritage of complex geotechnical projects and industrial services.

New Jersey-based Moretrench will operate as a division within Hayward Baker. Additionally, Moretrench Environmental Services Inc. (MES), a well-established, Tampa-based contractor providing industrial services, will operate independently within Keller doing business as Moretrench Industrial. President of Keller in North America John Rubright said, "Moretrench is a good fit technically and shares a similar company culture and philosophy with Keller.

The company is a pioneer in dewatering, groundwater control, and ground freezing; therefore, this acquisition further strengthens Keller's product range, geographic footprint, and sector diversity in North America and beyond." Moretrench and Hayward Baker have successfully joint ventured on several large and high-profile projects, which allowed each to draw on the strengths and resources of the other. Most recently, Moretrench and Hayward Baker's New York Metro Area office completed a year-long, complex joint venture project at Columbia University's Manhattanville campus.

This involved numerous geotechnical services, including micropiles, CFA soldier piles, driven H-piles, driven sheet piles, and anchors. Sister Keller company Case Foundation was also a sub-contractor. Similarly, MES and Hayward Baker have successfully partnered on challenging projects in Florida. Commenting on the acquisition, Eric Drooff, President of Hayward Baker, stated, "Having worked closely with Moretrench on several key projects, we were impressed with the quality of the company and expertise of its people. We are excited to welcome Moretrench to Hayward Baker and look forward to developing new synergies."

The enlarged entity will represent by far the most capable geotechnical solutions provider on the east coast and will be very well-positioned for the expected long run renewal of infrastructure.
