The devastating effects of recent natural hazards and disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc., on one hand, and the fragile status of infrastructures systems, on the other hand, have underscored that a great deal remains to be done.
This Conference is intended to raise the awareness about this important topic and to suggest strategies that can foster new paradigms in the interface of critical infrastructures and the economic and social impact of resilience.
The increasing necessity to solve complex problems in Resilience, Earthquake Engineering and structural health monitoring requires the development of new ideas and innovative methods for providing accurate numerical solutions in affordable computing times.
ICONREM will offer a stimulating environment to share scientific knowledge and experience with colleagues from all over the world.
Conference sessions will be held in Turin at the Politecnico di Torino with its modern meeting facilities and, on its last day, at the Joint Research Centre in Ispra, the third biggest European Commission site after Brussels and Luxembourg, located on the Lake Maggiore, about 130 km from Turin.
ICONREM will also be a great occasione to visit Torino and its region Piedmont, one of the most fascinating Italian tourist destinations.
We look forward to meeting you in Italy!
