Keller lays foundation for Aston Martin tower

Keller business units HJ Foundation and Hayward Baker worked on the foundation system of one of Miami's most prestigious, eye-catching developments – an Aston Martin-branded residential tower.

Hayward Baker worked on a sheet pile & helical pile installation in restricted access conditions in a busy petrochemical facility. The client added a new sump area and needed to support the new concrete sump floor. Along with the new addition, the client also required deep foundation support of new pipe bridges and supports and retrofitting existing supports (concrete bell piers) with new helical piles in the main corridor of the facility. The subsurface soils generally consisted of lean-to fat clays in loose to medium soils 20 to 30 ft deep.

Robinson Landing is a $185 million, mixed-use development that covers a full city block on the Potomac River waterfront in Alexandria, VA. Despite the challenges of working on the Potomac River adjacent to historic buildings, Hayward Baker constructed a watertight TRD earth retention system on time and with minimal movement.

The iconic Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood is undergoing a $1.5 billion expansion, with a gleaming 36-storey, guitar-shaped hotel as its stunning centerpiece. Alongside the glass-fronted hotel on the edge of an expansive lake, the complex will also feature what's claimed to be the largest pool area in the Caribbean, plus an expanded casino and new show venue. The KELLER team of Hayward Baker and HJ Foundation worked on the foundation support system for all of the proposed new buildings.

14 remarkable structures that addressed geotechnical challenges along with the solutions provided by Keller and fellow companies are presented in their 2019 virtual calendar.
