The Longest Underwater Tunnel

The underwater tunnel is a huge project with a cost at around 36 billion US dollars, with a length twice as long as the Channel Tunnel is and it will be built in the most dangerous earthquake zones in Asia. When the tunnel is completed, the Dalian tunnel will be the longest undersea tunnel in the world.

The first 3D printed estate in the United States is set to be complete by the end of 2017. The ambitious project is being undertaken by New York City architect Adam Kushner, alongside partners including 3D-printing pioneer Enrico Dini and his D-Shape firm. The estate will feature a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, carport and a 2,400 square foot house in upstate New York.

A 66 foot long brick wall was blown down in China and this collapse, which occurred on a street in Lanzhou City, northwestern China, has claimed 2 lives and left 7 people injured. The trapped pedestrians were dug out by the rescuers using shovels and other tools as well as searching the debris for further victims.

After meeting with Chinese officials last week, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin announced plans for a joint space exploration project. This joint venture could lead to the establishment of a Sino-Russian base on the moon. The announcement was made of April 28 in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. Rogozin told reporters:

China is considering an extension of a railway line that will link the country of Nepal via a tunnel under Mount Everest. This is according to Chinese state media. There is serious skepticism as to whether the project will ever get off the ground, as this is just the latest proposal in a series of ambitious rail schemes Beijing is examining. The project is expected to be completed by 2020 and would forge a crucial trade link between China and India.

China Continues Extreme Investment in Africa

Worth a total of almost $5.5 billion, the China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) has signed two railway construction deals in Africa. CRCC is tasked with building a $3.5 billion intercity railway line in Nigeria’s southwestern Ogun State and a $1.93 billion residential construction project in Zimbabwe. These projects will help promote the expansion of China’s presence across the continent, while making its firms more competitive globally. This will also tighten China’s grip on Africa’s infrastructure economy.

57-Story Skyscraper Built in 19 days!

Broad Sustainable Building, a construction company in China, recently built a 57-floor, 2-million-square-foot skyscraper in just 19 days. That is an average of three floors per day. The building has 19 10-meter-tall atriums, enough office space for 4000 people and 800 apartments. The structure is made up of prefabricated sections that reduced the use of concrete by 15,000 trucks, which translates into less dust released into the air.
