Computes elongation and and prestress losses in 3D post-tensioned tendons, accounting for frictional effects and anchor set.
The PSLoss spreadsheet calculates elongation and immediate friction and anchor set prestressing losses in post-tensioning tendons. Tendons may follow a three-dimensional profile and can be jacked from one or both ends. PSLoss enables the generation of tendon profiles containing multiple curves and tangents, and it also computes the vertical and horizontal loads equivalent to the effects of post-tensioning. These forces can then be applied to the beam to determine both primary and secondary post-tensioning moments. The program has been successfully used on a wide range of bridge projects and has proven reliable in checking post-tensioning shop drawings with accuracy.
