A 5.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Flores Sea of Indonisia at approximately 20:24 on January 25th. Despite the magnitude of the earthquake there are no reports of damage or fatalities. The event did not prompt any tsunami advisories while minor aftershocks are expected in the next days.
The epicenter was situated roughly 80km east-northeast of Ruteng at East Nusa Tenggara Province, and the tremor originated at a depth of around 27km. Moderate shaking affected northern coastal areas of Flores Island which is near the epicenter, while lighter shaking may have been felt across western and central East Nusa Tenggara.
