When: June 4-6, 2014
Following the great success of the first edition of this course in 2014, sold out two months before the beginning of the course, with 100 participants from 27 countries and 24 partners, the second edition will be held from 4th to 6th June 2015. The course will include some new topics and new speakers, and more time for networking. The course will be held in the main room of the 10th Century Poppi Castle, in Tuscany, Italy.
The purpose of the course is to guide participants on how to plan and execute effective geotechnical and structural monitoring programs. Presentations will be given by fourteen leading experts of the geotechnical and structural monitoring community from Italy, England, France, Norway, Canada, Switzerland and USA.
The course is intended for project managers and other decision-makers who are concerned with management of RISK during construction, geotechnical and structural engineers, end users, consultants, service providers, manufacturers and researchers.
The last day will be a workshop with lecturers given by leading experts from industry and academia, including John Burland, Michele Jamiolkowski and Elmo DiBiagio, and with interactive sessions. The workshop is intended to reinforce the vital contribution of monitoring to the success of engineering projects.
