Looking for information, details/ design perameters for the following basement wall. Building was constructed around 1900 to 1920. Original drawings not abailable at this time.
Field conditions observed:
Main building frame 10 to 20 feet back from curb. Vault space below sidewalk typically building utility space and/or garage. Basement wall at curb line constructed as follows:
Vertical Rolled steel members (flange exposed) at approximately 4-foot centers. Basement floor to street approximately 17-feet max. One area has lower brace/framing at approximately 10-feet above basement floor apparently due to a step in the vault ceiling mid-way from the curb to the building wall..
Brick arch with tie rods between steel members
Horizontal built up steel member at top of vertical rolled members spanning to bracing beam to building columns
Original building frame rolled steel beams, built up girders and columns, concrete encased.
