I am wanting to construct a 12' long by 15' wide by 14' tall steel boat hoist. The smaller the material the better. It needs to be able to lift a total of 20 tons / 40,000 pounds. The weight will be dispersed onto 4 - 5 ton hoists at each corner. The 4 vertical beams will bolt down to individual concrete footers. How many total beams will I need to be structurally secure and safe? What type of steel do I need to buy? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
