Let me start out by saying that I am a construction management student. This is my last semester in the program and to graduate I have to complete the "Senior Project".

What I selected to do my senior project on was to manage the build of a Solar Updraft Tower Power Plant. Through some calculations I found out the general size of my plant.

For a basic overview of the solar updraft tower check out this video:

My plant will feature a tower that is 753 meters tall and 62 meters in diameter.

I am planning on using reinforced concrete to build the tower. Should I pour on site into forms or should I have precast concrete delivered? This tower requires roughly 1.25 MILLION cubic yards of concrete.

Also what size rebar should I use? I was planning on tapering the size of rebar as the weight of the concrete from above decreases. Is this advisable?

Thanks for any help. If you need anymore information please PM me.

-Edward
